Set Cafe

Liquid Crew Satisfcation

Tired of bad coffee on set? Want fresh, tasty coffee on location?

Presenting the SetCafe, a robust Pelican case containing everything you need to get deliciously caffeinated on set. No more drinking To Go Carafes of stale dark roast, no more empty coffee makers at crafty, and, finally, no more dragging your espresso machine around set asking every juicer you pass where you can plug in “some equipment.”

Pour over or Aeropress? Indoor wall power or outdoor canister fueled JetBoil? Preground beans or grind them yourself? Blindly scoop in beans with reckless abandon or measure them out to the gram like a Swiss watchmaker? All this, and slightly more, in one well lit case.

Available to rent on your next job with Scott.

If you’re new to this novel idea, thanks for checking it out and getting it on your next set. Check out a more detailed description on what you’re getting yourself into below.

Contents

What’s in this magical black case of wonderment and coffee?

As you see in the picture below, the Set Cafe has everything you need to make tasty, freshly brewed coffee. Contents:

  • Melitta Pour Over cone

  • Aeropress

  • To-the-degree gooseneck Kettle (or JetBoil for outdoors)

  • Battery powered grinder

  • Scale

  • Timer (for those of you that swing that way)

  • Filter Box

  • Lights (with optional V Mount plate)

  • OPTIONAL: Delicious beans from a WA roaster

  • OPTIONAL: “Locally sourced” Jug o’ Water

COMPLETE CONTENTS
Top level from top left: Light, filter box (elastic buckle keeps it stowed, contains both #2 pour over and Aeropress filters), timer (magnetically attaches, in case you’d like to pop it off during use), V mount plate (yup, it works. Don’t leave the battery in and try to close the lid, though)

Bottom level from top left: Kettle (slot the kettle in kettle shaped hole, and put the base plate on its side with the power cable bundled up in the hole at the top of the section) OR JetBoil (put the gray bottom cap on the JetBoil, then into the empty cup place the orange plastic feet, plastic stove, metal pot holder, fuel canister, and then pop on the lid), empty slot for beans, scoop, and Aeropress stirrer, pour over cone, main battery (switch off when you’re done but no need to unplug), Aeropress (push the plunger in until is pops out, then place the black cap on top without screwing on), scale and grinder (grinder goes in first and the scale sits on top with the plastic cover over it)

The Details

What do I need to do to get SetCafe on my set?

Just ask! SetCafe is available to bring on any job you get Scott on as part of a kit fee.

Does production need to supply anything?

I bring the gear, you bring the beans. Or not. Either way, just ask if you’d like to have a bag of beans included and let me know what you like - light roast, dark, fruity, Folgers, whatever. Also, let me know if you’d prefer the electric kettle (requires power) or the JetBoil (comes with fuel canister).

Cups, clean up supplies, and water are typically supplied by production (all crafty staples), but can be supplied if necessary.

Is FANCY COFFEE THING included in the kit? Can it be?

SetCafe is an experiment in finding a (kind of ridiculous and fun) way to have better coffee on set. The current iteration doesn’t have everything you can imagine right now, and it’ll never have a full espresso machine, but if there’s something you’d like to see included, then hit me with it and it might find its way into the kit sooner or later.

DOES HAVE STICKERS?!!??!

Yeah, I get it, I love stickers too. Sit tight and this dream might come true.
